CTRA Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
April 8, 2005
Meeting was called to order at 3:45 p.m. by President Kathy Durham. In attendance: Kathy Durham, Paula Sandas (came half-way through meeting), Larry Kavinoky, Betsy Friebel, Nicole Thom, Sheila Kothari, Alexandra McFarland, John Mark Agosta, Erika Enos. Absent: Hollis Radin
The Minutes from March 4, 2005 meeting were accepted.
BOARD PRIORITIES/MAJOR DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mayfield Agreement
Alexandra explained that discussion of the Mayfield development issue is escalating in the neighborhood. The Board discussed the specific concerns about the Stanford/City agreement expressed in letter to the Board from neighborhood resident Fred Balin.
Board Action Items regarding Mayfield Agreement:
1. Have another community meeting on April 26 with City staff and possibly City Council members to discuss: what can be in the Development Agreement and what is in the Development Agreement.
2. Prepare a FAQ paper.
Traffic Calming
Kathy reported that originally, the City was to take measurements in early May. This has been pushed back to July or August. City said traffic circles, etc. would not be put in until October.
OFFICERS' REPORTS
Social Coordinator:
Annual picnic set for Saturday, April 23rd, 4 p.m. until dusk. This is also the 35th Earth Day. Will ask JJ&F to provide hot dogs and bread at reasonable price. Perhaps hunt for Hershey kisses instead of chocolate eggs. Flyer to go out soon. Used Book Drive will also be at picnic.
Treasurer:
Collected $90.00 today! Board members should submit receipts to the Treasurer. Treasurer will bring the donation can to every event. It was suggested that we write at the bottom of e-news: Your $upport needed.
Communications Director:
Copies of newsletter should be at library and JJ&F. Working on getting newsletter on CTRA website.
Government/University Observers:
ZOU R-1 -- April 11 vote by City Council. 25 foot lots -- no second story. 30 ft. lots -- could put on second story. Want to change corner lots -- side setback from 16 to 10 feet.
Don't forget to vote regarding storm drains.
Paula Sandas reported that the Library Committee is preparing a survey for patrons of the library.
NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting is set for Friday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Kathy's house. The June meeting may be on a Monday evening.
