College Terrace Residents’ Association
Board of Directors’ Meeting Minutes
Monday, June 6, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Kathy Durham. 
In attendance:  Kathy Durham, Paula Sandas, Hollis Radin, John Mark Agosta and Erika Enos. Absent: Larry Kavinoky, Betsy Friebel, Nicole Thom/Sheila Kothari, and Alexandra McFarland.
 
Minutes
The Minutes from the Annual Meeting of the College Terrace Residents’ Association held on March 19, 2005 were accepted as presented by Paula Sandas.

The Minutes from the April 29, 2005 (May) board meeting were accepted as presented by Hollis Radin.

Hollis and Betsy will contact Pria about uploading minutes and newsletters to the website ourselves.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

Observers:

Kathy reported that implementation of the traffic calming measures may be delayed until the fall. Kathy will attend the meeting on June 20 and urge the staff to install at least the speed table before school starts.

Paula reported on the CT Library Survey. They have completed 80 surveys and hoping to complete 20 more.

John Mark and Kathy reported on the Mayfield Project and its relationship to the proposed traffic signals on Arastradero Road.

Board priorities:
Paula moderated a brainstorming discussion of CTRA Board priorities for the coming year.

The Board reviewed the purposes of the CTRA: to provide information on and opportunities for discussion of issues affecting the neighborhood; to represent the neighborhood’s interest, and to provide opportunities for social interaction and community building.

The following topics were discussed as possible board priorities for the coming year:

Update of CT Issues and Opportunities Statement
Heal wounds from the dissension over Mayfield agreement
Unify the neighborhood
Champion our diversity.
Make CTRA more inclusive.
Tell CTRA’s history and process.
Include enticing information in newsletter.
Implement traffic calming trial.
Monitor zoning ordinance revisions.
Monitor Mayfield Agreement progress
Emergency Preparedness
Monitor JJ&F Remodel
Address parking issues near Stanford and El Camino
Support neighborhood artists, musicians, community organizations, centers, etc.
Host ice cream social for City Council Candidates in October.
Host more social activities- possibly quarterly potlucks.

Further discussion and setting of Board Priorities will occur at the July Meeting.

A combined July/August meeting will be held at date to be determined.
