CTRA Board of Directors Meeting

08/06/04

Meeting called to order at 2:30 pm by President Kathy Durham.
A quorum was present.
In attendance:    Margaret Miller, Alexandra McFarland, Kathy Durham, Holly Welstein, Paula Sandas, Erika Enos, Donna Matheson.

Minutes from the 7/01/04 meeting were accepted as revised.

The board welcomed our new Treasurer, Donna Matheson, to her first board meeting.

BOARD PRIORITIES

Traffic Study:

Kathy displayed the final results of the traffic survey.  There is a strong response for

Measure A on streets where physical measures are proposed. Individual written

comments from the postcards were also compiled.  The city staff report based on these

results will be presented to the Planning and Transportation Commission at their

9/8/04 meeting.  Kathy and Alexandra will put together a Power point presentation

summarizing the process that CTRA went through to get from the initial petition to the

survey just done, which they will also present at the 9/8 meeting.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

Social Coordinator:

The Labor Day Picnic will be held at Cameron Park on 9/6/04 from 3:30 pm to dusk.

CTRA will provide grills and charcoal and residents will be asked to bring something

to grill and a salad, side dish, or dessert to share.  Margaret will need help (strong

backs, etc.) for both set-up and clean-up.  She will request help in an e-news to go out

in two weeks.  Kathy and Margaret will design a flyer sometime before 8/27 for

distribution the weekend before Labor Day weekend.  During the picnic Kate Rooney will

display plans for renovations in Cameron, Mayfield and Weisshaar Parks.

Vice-President:

The data-base update is completed.  It will not be distributed to board members and will

be used only when needed for official contacts.  Paula noted that the new Director of

Libraries, Paula Simpson, has been assessing the libraries and making comments about

possible changes.  CT residents will be kept informed about impacts on the CT Library

via e-news.  There is a Library Advisory Commission outreach meeting scheduled for

7:00 pm on 9/23/04 at the CT Library.

Treasurer:

Donna will meet again with Paula before presenting the first quarter report (April-

June) at our next board meeting.

Communications:

Kathy reported that she and Betsy will put together the picnic flyer which will remind

residents of the 9/8/04 Planning Commission as well.  Also, Betsy is working on setting

up a more regular deadline, possibly alternate Thursdays, for the e-news.

Government/Stanford Observers:

Alexandra and Kathy met with Bern Beecham to discuss traffic and parking and to get his

insights about the current impasse in the parking meetings.  Alexandra has a meeting

scheduled with Jean McCown to prompt Stanford to remind students/staff not to park on

            CT streets.

Erika informed the board that the ZOU will include changes to the rules for single-

family residences on sub-standard lots.  She will write an e-news notice to alert CT

            residents to follow these changes.

Some CT residents and local business (Common Ground) approached the board via e-mail

for endorsement of the idea of a community garden in Cameron Park.  No plan was

presented and the board therefore chose not to take a stand.

NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be Friday, September 3 at 2:30 pm at Erika's home.

Respectfully submitted by Holly Welstein, Secretary.
