BOARD PRIORITIES/MAJOR DISCUSSION ITEMS

  • Traffic Calming
    • Meeting with City officials
      • John Mark, Kathy and Emily met with Gayle, Jim West and Charlotte in July.
      • Charlotte was going to review and analyze the data collected from the traffic calming Trials. We may be able to get the data before the newsletter goes out
        • John Mark to follow up with Gayle to ensure that we get the data as soon as possible
      • John Mark to ensure that traffic measurements are taken at the same spots, so that we get comparable measurements
    • Compiling Resident Feedback
      • Kathy to follow up
    • Update to residents
      • CTRA board members believe that the City should host a meeting to provide an update to the residents
      • John Mark has a poster that can be used to educate people on proper "rules of engagement" at traffic circles
      • John Mark to send a letter the City, listing the items we want addressed at the meeting
  • Permit Parking
    • Greg spoke at the City Council meeting. Lots of people are still trying to understand all the issues relating to permit parking, as well as why we need to implement this initiative
    • At this time, the board's opinion is that this effort will take time to get rolling, so we should focus on the traffic calming efforts for now
    • We will put a note in the newsletter mentioning the fact that we will have some information on this topic at the Labor Day picnic
  • Communications/Outreach
    • Next steps for printed newsletter
      • Can we find someone in College Terrace to help Susan with the layout?
      • Can Margarita help find someone? Who was supposed to call Margarita?
    • Outreach at Labor Day picnic
      • Posters are up throughout the neighborhood
      • The Palo Alto Fire Dept. will have a fire truck at the picnic
      • Susan will send an email to all the City Council candidates, inviting them to the picnic

        • Susan will send out an email invitation to all the City Council and School Board candidates for an ice cream social on 10/13.
          • Venue: Mayfield Park, adjacent to the College Terrace Library
          • Time: 2:00 - 4:00 pm
