Meeting called to order at 2:30 pm by President Kathy Durham.
In attendance:  Margaret Miller, Alexandra McFarland, Kathy Durham, Holly Welstein, Erika Enos, Betsy Friebel, Paul Garrett, Donna Matheson.
Absent:  Paula Sandas.

Minutes from the 8/06/04 meeting were accepted as revised.

BOARD PRIORITIES

Labor Day Picnic:

Margaret has arranged for tables and grills but requested more help with heavy lifting

for set up and clean up.  There will be a CTRA information table (Holly and Kathy) and

the Traffic Advisory Group will display Traffic Calming Trial information.  Kate Rooney

will display park renovation plans at 4:30.

Neighborhood Traffic Study:

The board had an opportunity to see the staff report on the College Terrace traffic study

and the proposed trial traffic calming plan which will be in information packets

provided to Planning Commission members prior to the September 8 meeting.  Each CT

household received a postcard informing residents of the time and place of the public

hearing as well as the address for submitting written comments.  The board agreed to

encourage CT residents to attend the meeting to voice support for Plan A.  The order of

the agenda is not yet set and Kathy will alert people when she knows.  Many

emails have been sent to the Planning Commission and they will continue to be accepted

up to noon on the day of the meeting.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

Vice-President:

Paula needs help coordinating emergency preparedness and Erika agreed to make phone

calls to find a CT resident to attend the next PAN sponsored emergency prep meeting

later this month.  The Library Advisory Meeting scheduled for September 23 will be

advertised at the picnic and Holly will put a sandwich board outside of the library if

            the librarians permit it.

Treasurer:

Donna still has not received the Treasurer's notebook from Grace and will report next

            month.

Communications:

Betsy explained that the timing of the next newsletter will depend on the outcome of the

September 8 Planning Commission meeting.  After there is a good idea of when the

Traffic Calming Trial will be considered by the City Council she will schedule it.  Paula

and Susan Rosenberg have completed a JJ&F comparison shop which they plan to write

            up for the next newsletter.

Government/Stanford Observers:

Kathy reported that the county's supplemental EIR on the southern Stanford Trail routes

proposed in 2001-2002 should be ready for public review in October, with a possible

date of October 7 for the public hearing before the County Planning Commission.  She and

Alexandra will attend a meeting tomorrow to gather information and report back

            next month.

Alexandra met with Jean McCown about parking and Stanford is looking into parking

availability on campus and other aspects of the problem.  Alexandra will report to

the board after she hears back from them on these points.

Paul noted that a meeting about the Mayfield site agreement was canceled and there is

no news to report about that at present.

Holly and Margaret have heard from Patricia Becker about a conceptual plan for a

community garden but have not actually seen it.  Holly will draft a letter to the Parks

and Recreation Commission stating that the CTRA does not have a position and the

greater neighborhood has not been informed/consulted about the proposal.

NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be Friday, October 1 at 2:30 pm at Kathy's home.

Respectfully submitted by Holly Welstein, Secretary.
