Board of Directors’ Meeting Minutes
Friday, December 16th, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 3:50 p.m. by President Kathy Durham.

In attendance: Kathy Durham, Paula Sandas, Hollis Radin, Larry Kavinoky, Betsy Friebel, Erika Enos, John Mark Agosta, and Alexandra McFarland. Absent: Sheila Kothari. (Nicole Thom has moved out of the neighborhood.)

Minutes of the November 7, 2005 Board Meeting were approved as presented.

BOARD PRIORITIES/DISCUSSION ITEMS

Traffic Calming:
Kathy reported that the fire department ran a clearance test of the proposed traffic circles and discovered that some changes will be nescessary to the proposed traffic calming plan, particularly at Yale and College and at Yale and Cambridge. A meeting with affected neighbors will be held in December.

Nominating committee:
The Board appointed KenVan Vleck, Brent Barker, Betsy Friebel, and Sandy Forrest to the nominating committee, subject to their consent. Hollis Radin will contact the committee members and help organize the meetings.

Parking permit study:
Kathy distributed a draft survey regarding non-resident parking and parking permits to be tested on the blocks near Stanford Avenue most affected by non-resident parking. After reviewing the survey, the board suggested that background information on the non-resident parking problem be separated from the survey and be presented in the enews and/or as a separate information piece to avoid biasing the survey.

Munger project:
The Munger graduate student housing project’s possible effects on parking and traffic were briefly discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m. The January meeting date will be determined.
